Canberra, Australia
We made it to Canberra by early afternoon on Saturday, our stomachs still digesting our bacon, hot chips with gravy, pie with mushy peas and a Devonshire tea from our pit-stop in Berrima.
I've been to our nation's capital several times: with primary school, high school, a trip to the National Art Gallery and as a tourist guide for overseas visitors. I still get hopelessly lost though, its infamous circular roads baffling me every time.
We had a few hours to kill before the Balloon Fiesta Nightime Spectacular, and so we hit a few of Canberra's usual attractions...

Australian flag atop Parliament House
The flag pole is 81 metres tall and weighs about 220 tonnes. The flag itself is about half the size of a tennis court and weighs five kilos.

So Helen, where did you eat and drink in Canberra? I like to drink at Verve and eat at The Ginger Room (Old Parliament House)

Hi Helen
There is a wonderful cafe called Silo in Canberra, they do great coffee and fantastic pastries. Oh well, perhaps next time then!
